Urgent! Urgent! Urgent!

Another aspect of our campaign is to lobby Government Office North West to 'call in' the planning application.  This takes the decision out of the hands of the local authority.  This is something that happens when there is a controversial application. To do this you need to write to Michael Morris This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

You can find sample call in letters in the downloads section of the website.

It helps if you copy the letter to your MP and Councillors (both on the Planning Committee and your local ones).

PLEASE ARGUE IT IS CRUCIAL THAT:
1.    The Derwent Holdings application to build another large superstore at White City (ref: 74483/FULL/2009)
2.    Other supermarket proposals for example in Salford (two different applications were granted permission this week, including a Tesco mega store at West One)
3.    Complications relating to school playing fields, local parks and the expansion of school buildings
4.    Massive increases in traffic along A56

Must also be taken into consideration and therefore the Tesco application should be called in by the Secretary of State.

Breaking News

We have more time to submit objections to the planning application. The date for the application to be considered has not been set but may be 11th March.  If you haven't already written please get busy.  We have added some more examples of letters - see downloads tab - to help you make planning related points.  Its important to personalise your letter with a few points. E.g. where you live and why this issue is important to you. You can email as well as send the letter by post. Both methods carry equal weight. Please send your letter to the case officer - in addition to those listed on the example letters - her name and email adddress is victoria.moran@trafford.gov.uk
